May 23, 2019 I am getting ready to build a new desktop computer and have bought the Asus Prime X-470 Pro motherboard. I have a question about installing the drivers after installing the Windows 10. Going to the Asus website, most if now all the drivers have been updated.

Pros: The Motherboard lights up?
Cons: The fan didn't spin, nor the ram light.
Dear Nghia,
Hello, thank you for sharing for your experience regarding our product. We value your feedback. It is unfortunate that your motherboard was dead on arrival and fans won't turn on. Please try taking the motherboard out your computer case and put it on a non-static test bench and put in the essentials which are : one stick of RAM, CPU, PSU, and a GPU and see if it posts. Let me know if this helps. If you have any questions or concerns, you can contact me at [email protected], or to speak to an ASUS live support agent 24/7 at http://bit.ly/AsusLiveChat. RAID does not work or just too hard to setup5/25/2019 10:55:06 AM
Pros: The motherboard is fine just as long was you don't need to use the RAID.
Cons: I tried to setup a simple RAID 1 with hard drives and later with M.2 SSD cards and even after working with ASUS tech support the RAIDXpert2 software that is required to do is not-compatible. Also, the instructions for how to do it are for some other boards BIOS. Don't use this motherboard if you want setup RAID.

Solid mobo, but loses one egg for overtight screws and resulting loss of M.2 slot5/24/2019 6:48:56 PM
Pros: Great mobo overall, has everything you need for a solid gaming or media rendering rig, without going way overboard. Excellent for the price point. Easy setup, BIOS is useable.
Cons: Even using a proper sized screwdriver (I have several sets of them and know how to choose the right one for a job), I could not get the screws loose on the 'heatsink' over the upper M.2 drive slot. It just is not coming. The right hand screw finally came out, but the one at the left end ain't going anywhere. So I can't use the upper M.2 drive slot, very disappointing. I have seen other reviews mentioning this exact problem, so it's a process problem they will hopefully sort out. I decided not to make a big deal about it and send it back (figuring the odds were good I'd face the same problem with a replacement), I can make due with one M.2 slot, but it's annoying.
Other Thoughts: If they fix that manufacturing process problem described above, it'll be a real winner in its class (mid-range gaming mobos). Hopefully ASUS fixes the issue.

Customer support is PITIFUL, board is ok5/12/2019 11:32:20 AM
Pros: Finally got the thing working
Cons: CUSTOMER SUPPORT
Asus customer support for this is absolutely pitiful. I had to call so many times about a simple problem, and none of them could understand basic English and spoke with super heavy Indian accents. Needlessly said, none of them (5 different people) helped at all. They had me move my graphics card around to other slots, they had me reset the board, then a ton of other stuff that didn't help at all. One call, after spending about TWO HOURS of doing this nonsense, they gave up and said they would have someone else call me with further technical support. Guess what? That call came after MORE THAN TWO WEEKS!!! By then, of course, I already found and fixed the problem. PRODUCT The product itself doesn't have onboard graphics for certain processors, so you need to connect your monitor to your graphics card to see anything.
Other Thoughts: The product itself isn't bad after you get it working.
The customer support for this product is trash. If your build for this board isn't working, do this first: 1. Check that each of your other parts work and check to make sure their model numbers are found on the qvl for this board (Processor and ram). 2. Make sure your board is all hooked up and your power supply is is sufficient. 3. Have your monitor plugged into your graphics card since some processors aren't strong enough to support the mobos onboard graphics.
